The National Religious Retirement Office (NRRO) sponsors a national annual appeal for the Retirement Fund for Religious. The distribution of funds donated to this collection provides religious institutes with vital support for the current and future care of elder members. The NRRO also offers numerous assistance services that include workshops, fiscal and demographic analysis, and the coordination of volunteer consultants who are experts in eldercare, financial planning, and community leadership.
Members of the Daughters of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary attend a planning workshop with their NRRO consultants.
Since the first appeal for the Retirement Fund for Religious was conducted, over $718 million in financial support has been distributed to religious communities in the United States. The 2014 appeal raised $28.3 million, and the NRRO awarded $25 million in Direct Care Assistance to 395 religious communities, or an average of $1,310 for every member of an eligible Catholic religious community who is age 70 or older.
